The Kazakh Thunder

Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin is known as “GGG” for short or by his nickname, “The Kazakh Thunder.”

Be it Usain Bolt, Pelé, Dwyane Wade, or Victor Cruz, Hublot has a penchant for athlete ambassadors that break away from the mold of what a traditional athlete acts like. The brand recently introduced a Kazakhstan boxer to the ranks, Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin. “GGG,” for short, is the current middleweight world champion in four different federations. After his 37th straight victory, at Madison Square Garden in late March, Hublot introduced three new models celebrating the “Kazakh Thunder.” Two pieces are limited to 25 editions each, while the third is a one-of-a-kind release set with 248 diamonds and made from King Gold. The first of the 25-limited-edition is the King Power UNICO Special Edition Gennady Golovkin, which is as large as its eponym, coming in black ceramic at 48 mm with decorative boxing-themed touches such as GGG’s initials and gloves. The other model is also made of King Gold and is covered in a proprietary alloy developed by Hublot that extends brightness and provides extra durability and strength.
