Hamilton boasts one of the more colorful legacies in watchmaking today and enjoys a niche following among collectors for it. So when the Pennsylvanian cum Swiss brand introduced a new series of its iconic Ventura line to celebrate the model’s 60th anniversary at Baselworld, Hamilton fanboys across the globe rejoiced. The Ventura is most well-known for appearing on Elvis Presley’s wrist in the classic 1961 film Blue Hawaii, and for utilizing an unconventional electric caliber. The brand showed several promising and affordable new variants at this year’s fair, the highlight being a retro yellow-gold-covered stainless-steel quartz edition as well as a larger skeletonized mechanical Ventura meant to recall the look of a vintage microphone that the King of Rock ’n’ Roll may have used himself.
