TAG Heuer celebrated its continued support for Major League Soccer at the MLS All Star Game last Thursday in San Jose, California. Friends and VIP’s of the brand watched the game from a suite directly off the pitch in Avaya Stadium. Opened last year, Avaya Stadium serves as the home turf for the San Jose Earthquakes. Unlike other all-star games in American professional sports, the MLS All-Star Game pits the best players in the league against a European club. This year the competitor, Arsenal, ended up winning 2-1, with Didier Drogba of the Montreal Impact scoring the MLS All-Star team’s sole goal.
Prior to the match’s start, TAG hosted an official #dontcrackunderpressure challenge open to all game attendees outside the stadium. It involved a partially blocked off soccer net that tested competitors to score as many points as possible in under a minute. The winner at the end of the day received a TAG Heuer Connected watch, the same multi-function smart watch that the All-Star Game referees wore during the match. The challenge attracted a wide variety of contestants, including TAG Heuer North America President Kilian Muller and Earthquakes forward Tommy Thompson.
