Speake-Marin’s new creation, the Dong Son Tourbillon, features a red gold dial and a center etched to leave a relief motif inspired by the prehistoric bronze drums of the ancient Dong Son people of Vietnam. The intricate dial is contained in the drum-like 38mm Piccadilly case in 18k red gold. The piece features signature Speake-Marin accents such as heat-blued hands and a fluted crown (which is in this piece set with a diamond). At the watch’s core is a self-winding caliber featuring a 60-second tourbillon, visible at the 6 o’clock location, with a 72-hour power reserve.
