Only Watch is a one of a kind auction for charity.

In the colorful and intoxicating world of haute horlogerie, it’s sometimes hard to remember to give back to those less fortunate. And although there are countless philanthropic initiatives hosted by various brands, they often don’t get the same attention a new watch release does. Only Watch solves this problem by combining charity and timepieces in an unforgettable way. Fifty different brands produce one-of-a-kind timepieces—which can range from being nearly identical to one already in the brand’s portfolio to a highly conceptual timepiece that won’t ever have a sibling—and auction them off, with 99 percent of the proceeds going to muscular dystrophy research. The watches go on a global tour in the months preceding the event (the New York viewing is Oct. 29–30 and Los Angeles Nov. 1–2), before finally settling in Geneva for the auction from Nov. 9–11. The biennial auction raised over $11 million in 2015 and expects to top that this year.
