Renowned German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic believes that “time is discipline, but also something quite sensual and elegant.” This was clear when he was asked by Swiss watchmaker Rado to design the new Ceramica timepiece. The design stays true to the geometric shape that made the original such a classic. Gently curved edges of the monobloc case stand out while the velvety matte finish emphasizes the form of the piece. The new design draws inspiration from pilot watches, which are best known for their straightforward graphics. Limited to 701 pieces, the modernized design and use of high-tech ceramic gives a classic timepiece a contemporary twist.
