Building on the release of last year’s Senator Excellence, Glashütte Original showcased a new and improved Senator with the introduction of a Perpetual Calendar complication at Baselworld this year. The 42 mm case reveals a dial comfortably filled with a day-and-date, moonphase, and leap-year display. The German brand has released the watch in red gold for $37,100, steel on a bracelet for $23,800, or $22,300 on an alligator strap. The Caliber 36 movement that powered last year’s Senator is improved upon with the Perpetual Calendar module placed on top. If you remember, last year’s Caliber 36 boasted both a 100 hour power reserve as well as a silicon hairspring.
