This March, Breitling is planning a world tour celebrating its aerial heritage and the launch of a brand-new timepiece. The Breitling DC-3 airplane will be flying around the world from March to September 2017 with a cargo of 500 limited-edition Navitimers. The DC-3 HB-IRJ was once one of the most-ridden aircrafts in the world and served in World War II during the Normandy invasion. More than 16,000 were originally built, but only 150 working models exist today. This specific DC-3 is 77 years old and will travel to the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe during its seven-month odyssey. It will launch its journey in Geneva before finally ending it back in Switzerland at the 2017 Breitling Sion Air Show. The limited-edition Navitimers on board will bear the Breitling DC-3 World Tour logo and are powered by the Breitling Caliber 01 movement.
