The legendary city of Florence will be host to a fascinating exhibit featuring the history of Officine Panerai, the watch manufacture founded in the Italian cultural hub in 1860. On May 18-21, “Panerai – Dive Into Time” will be held in the crypt of the former San Pancrazio church, current home of the Marino Marini Museum. The event will unearth previously unseen Panerai creations from different eras of the brand. It will highlight the talents of the Panerai manufacture and allow visitors to view a complete timeline of their achievements from the early days of designing watches for the Royal Italian Navy to their purchase by the Richemont Group. The timeline culminates with the opportunity for visitors to witness a master engraver demonstrate an engraving on the case of 2015’s signature Radiomir Firenze. The setting of a crypt in the brand’s hometown of Florence, a city that is known for effectively balancing the old with the new, allows Panerai to engage in a breathtaking display, utilizing over 80 timepieces, that transports its visitors far from 2016 and deep into the historical fibers of the relationship between a thousand year old city and the heritage of its native watch manufacture.
