For Hublot’s first multiaxis tourbillon, the already-bold watchmaker knew that its only option was to create a very large and very loud timepiece. And true to the manufacture’s spirit, the Hublot MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis comes in right at 49 mm. The new timepiece, revealed at Baselworld this year, was built from the ground up with the HUB9009.H1.RA caliber forming the heartbeat of the powerful machine. Inside the movement, the dual-axis tourbillon makes a complete rotation each minute on one axis and another rotation every 30 seconds on the other axis. To show off the tourbillon, Hublot designed and realized a 49 mm case that allows you to see each angle of it from below and to protect the five-day power-reserve indicator on the left side of the dial and time display on the right. The date is read from two rows of numbers that can be found just underneath the time. This date indicator is definitely unique but doesn’t seem too out of place on a watch as funky-looking as this one. A helpful date corrector can be found on the left hand side of the dial, allowing for immediate, and easy, adjustment.

Hublot is developing three limited-edition versions of this watch. One of the 50 titanium watches can be had for $169,000; the limited-to-20 King Gold edition for $211,000; and a titanium version with pavé diamonds for $190,000. More information can be found here.
