DAILY WATCH: The Master Graff GyroGraff World.

To its well-heeled international clientele, Graff is synonymous with flawless diamond jewelry of the highest order. Since 2008, the London-based jeweler has also had its hand in the super-luxe watch market, marrying the company’s signature aesthetic and penchant for design with haut de gamme watchmaking.

Graff’s watchmaking operations are based in Switzerland, where it crafts horological complications that play on the Graff house’s design codes and jewelry expertise. Where ladies’s pieces are concerned, this tends to mean elegant diamond settings.

At the high end of Graff’s men’s range, rare complications requiring exceptional watchmaking know how are the main attraction. Take, for example, this gyroscopic, multi-axis tourbillon with 3-D moonphase hewn from solid gold.

Framed by a 48 mm white or rose gold case, each Gyrograff World features a dial depicting one of the world’s seven continents in hyper-realistic colored enamel. Produced in the traditional grand feu method, the dials are oven-fired repeatedly to achieve a deep color intensity.

Because this is Graff, versions laid with colored precious stones are available. However the option remains for unadorned models as well.  After all, the real star here is the watchmaking.
