Living during an age of mechanical innovation, Pierre Jaquet-Droz was the very first watchmaker to attach a singing bird to a timepiece. In keeping with the brand’s history, the esteemed manufacture introduced two new complications in 2015, one, “The Charming Bird,” went on to win the Mechanical Exception prize at last year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. This year the brand once again continued to innovate with its newest Charming Bird wristwatch. For the first time, the song generated by the bird is created via air compression rather than vibration. This limited edition and entirely hand-decorated timepiece is truly a triumph of Métiers d’Art.
